If you are the proud owner of a cat, then you must also have had many instances where you have had your heart in your mouth because of the major falls that you have seen your cat to have. The cats are naturally agile animals and they are usually seen jumping from various heights. The tremendous thing about the cats jumping is that they rarely injure themselves. So, should a person be worried at all if a cat falls?
This question is hard to answer. This is because the pets that are kept in houses are not as naturally agile as the other cats that are seen in the wild. When these cats that are not used to jumping from a height falls or jumps because of the natural instinct, then there are chances of it injuring itself.
There are some instances where the cat may never injure itself because of the fall. This is because of some natural mechanisms that are present in the cat that will prevent the animal from injuring itself. Some facts that help in the advantage of the cat not injuring itself in the fall are the fur that it has got. The cats also have very light bones, so their bodies are not heavy. Almost all the cats fall on their feet and this prevents them from injuring themselves because they are soft on their feet. Any cat that is thrown or falling in any position will right itself and then fall or land on its feet. This reduces the impact. Other than this, the cat also has a body that changes shape and becomes like a parachute, and this too prevents injuries in a fall.
